ABOUT

  • Duration : 5 years (4 years academic + 1-year compulsory rotatory internship)
  • Eligibility : Must Qualify NEET UG Exam and pass BiPC (12th) with :

                             50% marks for General/EWS

                             45% for PWD (General)

                             40% for OBC/SC/ST

  • Affiliation : DCI recognized; under health universities like YSRUHS (Andhra Pradesh, KNRUHS (Telangana), and others
  • Career Scope : Clinical dentistry, MDS (Master of Dental Surgery), Government/Private practice, Teaching, Cosmetic Dentistry, Research, Public Health

Dental Doctors can take PG Degree (MDS-Master of Dental Surgery) to be successful in their respective streams with following courses.

  • MDS Courses - Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Orthodontics, Preventive dentistry, Oral Pathology, Periodontology, Prosthodontics, Public Health Dentistry

After Completion of graduation, students usually practice their skills in the field of dentistry in government or private hospitals. Those who are not willing to take up a job can further enhance their academic background by opting for Master's Program

  • National Level (All India Quota - AIQ) - by MCC

                Covers :

                          15% of All India Govt Dental Colleges (Open to all NEET-qualified candidates)

                          100% of Deemed Dental Universities

                Open to candidates from all states

                Conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)


  • State Level - by State Health Universities

                Covers :

                          15% of All India Seats + 85% Govt Seats + 100% Private Dental College Seats

                Requires local domicile for A Category

                Includes Management and NRI Quota

                Counselling done by respective authorities like YSRUHS (AP and KNRUHS (TS)

STATE WISE COUNSELLING

  • A Category - Free Seats / Convener Quota / Competent Authority Quota

                            Available in both Government and Private Colleges

                            Reserved for local/state domicile candidates

                            Government Fixed Fee (e.g. ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 per year)

                            Admission through state counselling

                            Requires good NEET score (higher than B & C categories)

  • B Category - Management Quota

                            Available in Private Colleges

                            Open to local and non-local candidates across India

                            Tuition fee ranges between ₹4.2 L - ₹5.25 L per year

                            Seats allotted via state-level counselling portals

                           NEET qualification is mandatory (lower cutoff than A Category)

  • C Category - NRI Quota

                            Reserved for NRI students or children of NRI sponsors

                            Proof of NRI sponsorship /documentation needed

                           Highest fee bracket (₹5.25 L - ₹6.5 L per year or USD equivalent)

                           Available only in private dental colleges
